The most frequently asked questions before an application

On the first page of the job advertisement you will find the contact details of the team or department head who is advertising the position. For technical queries, please contact this person directly.

For general questions about the application process, you can contact the HR department directly. You can reach them by e-mail at bewerbung@jc-gg.de or by telephone on 06152/6384-102.

Our selection criteria are generally based on the requirements profile of the position in question. In principle, the overall picture of the applicant is decisive for us, i.e. professional experience is just as important to us as a person's character.

Every job advertisement that you find on our homepage is still vacant as long as the application deadline has not yet expired.

Yes, it is very important that we receive your application within the specified application deadline. Applications not received by the deadline can only be accepted in exceptional cases. There is no legal entitlement to consideration after the application deadline.

Please send us your detailed application (including the necessary certificates) via our job portal.

No. Dress in a way that makes you feel comfortable at the interview and in everyday working life.

As we can only calculate your professional experience - and therefore your exact classification - once we have received the relevant references from all your previous jobs, it makes sense for you to upload your references directly with your online application documents. If you do not yet have individual references, it is possible to submit them later. In this context, please note that a final categorisation can only be made once the references have been submitted.

The most frequently asked questions after an application

You will receive an automated, electronic confirmation of receipt each time an application is successfully sent. If you do not receive a confirmation of receipt, your application has not been sent successfully.

This may be due to the following reasons:

  • Our confirmation of receipt may have ended up in your spam folder.
  • The storage capacity of your e-mail inbox is full, which is why no new e-mails can be received.

Your application documents will only be made available to those employees who are directly involved in the application process. As a rule, these are the HR management staff, the divisional management of the respective division, the future manager and the committees (i.e. the staff council, the equal opportunities officer and the representative body for severely disabled employees).

Unfortunately, we cannot give a general time frame because the processing of applications depends on several factors and can vary depending on the position and area. We therefore ask for your patience until we have made a decision. We will contact you unsolicited and send you either an invitation to an interview or a final rejection.

Please only contact us if you have not received a confirmation of receipt (see above).

Please refrain from enquiring about the current status, as for legal reasons we cannot answer interim enquiries during an ongoing selection procedure.

We will contact you without being asked as soon as the application process has been completed.

The specific selection process and its duration may vary depending on the position and area. After the application deadline, your application documents will be carefully scrutinised to ensure a fair selection process.

In the public sector, the selection of applicants is based on "best selection" with the aim of finding the best qualified person for the advertised position. This can take some time. The invitation to an interview usually takes place within two to three weeks after the end of the advertising period.

Once a decision has been made in favour of an applicant, the staff council, the equal opportunities officer and, if necessary, the representative body for severely disabled employees are involved and asked for their approval. The application process is then finalised.

Cancellations can therefore only be sent out after the application process has been completed, usually two to three months after the end of the advertisement.
