About the discounted Deutschland-Ticket
The Deutschland-Ticket has been available since 1 May 2023, is valid on public transport throughout Germany and costs 49 euros per month.
All recipients of Bürgergeld are entitled to purchase the discounted Deutschland-Ticket. It costs 31 euros per month and is valid on public transport throughout Germany, just like the regular Deutschland-Ticket.
How and where can I get the discounted Deutschland-Ticket?
As a recipient of Bürgergeld, you will automatically receive proof of eligibility ("Hessenpass mobil") by post from the Groß-Gerau district Jobcenter.
With this proof of eligibility, you can buy the discounted Deutschland-Ticket from RMV. You can either order by post(you can find the RMV order forms here) or you can visit one of the following RMV sales centres in the district of Groß-Gerau:

The discounted Deutschland-Ticket is valid from 1 August 2023 and can be ordered in advance from RMV from 30 June. Orders must be placed by the 10th day of each calendar month. The ticket is then valid from the 1st day of the following month.
Example: If you want to use the ticket from 1 September, you must order it by 10 August at the latest. If you do not order until 11 August (or later), the ticket will not be valid until 1 October.
The proof of eligibility ("Hessenpass mobil") will be sent automatically by the Groß-Gerau District Municipal Jobcenter by the end of June. You do not have to do anything for this.
As this affects a large number of people, it is possible that those entitled may receive their certificates at different times. If you still have not received your certificate in July, please contact the Groß-Gerau District Municipal Jobcenter.
New applicants will automatically receive the proof of eligibility ("Hessenpass mobil") together with the grant notification after their application has been checked.
The period of validity is printed on the proof of authorisation ("Hessenpass mobil").
A renewal application must be submitted to the RMV sales office using a new order form by the 10th of the month before the ticket expires. Renewal requires the resubmission of a valid proof of entitlement ("Hessenpass mobil") at this time.
You can cancel your discounted Deutschland-Ticket with RMV at any time. Please note: Cancellation must be made in writing by the 10th of the month. The cancellation will then take effect on the 1st day of the following month. If the cancellation is made after the 10th of the month, the ticket will not expire until the end of the following month.
Example: If you no longer wish to use the ticket from 1 November, you must cancel by 10 October at the latest. If you cancel on 11 October, the ticket is still valid until 30 November.
